Price and performance? What exact information is being asked for there?

This floor plan basically suits us quite well, it’s about more than just the kitchen and here we would have two kitchen options. Namely the original room that the catalog designates as the kitchen and the room Gast.

(no, we are no longer considering a completely free design by an architect. When we first had more concrete ideas, we did think about it, but overall that is not an option for us and we now want to stick 99% to the basic house type and provider)

The kitchen would have to measure 4.55 x 2.40 m.

Yes, there is directly a dining area, but I definitely want a closed kitchen. We are 4 people and I do not want to mess up the "good" dining area every morning with my small children.

As I said, I saw in the customer house that with the use of a sliding door a table is possible, of course it’s no longer extremely spacious, but absolutely within an acceptable range for us.

A widening of the house by 1 meter would be possible from the plot perspective, would add 4.5 sqm to the kitchen, but would also cost us 27,000 Euros in total...

Yes, that was your priority, I also read that again in another thread.

For a kitchen with a table (3 to 4 people), a minimum width of 270 cm is needed: 70 cm kitchen unit, 120 cm aisle width at the main traffic area, 80 cm table width.

In this respect, a kitchen room with the dimensions of about 300 x 400 makes more sense.

Hm, that sounds logical. Thanks a lot already.

The room with the 12 sqm would also be preferable to me because of the access to the garden. This room would have to be 4.55 x 2.80 m in size. It will also be tight it would of course be possible to steal 2 sqm from the living room. But then we would be under 30 sqm and that is slowly all rather too small for us... Or we really play through the option again to expand the kitchen with access to the garden to about 15 sqm and build a bay window at the front to give the living room a bit more space...

I think you are currently basing everything solely on the square meters? It would be much more important to keep the furnishing in mind, that is, to sketch where things should be placed and consider in which room a reasonably ergonomic kitchen with enough working space can best be accommodated.

I could imagine that this will be more difficult in the guest room despite the somewhat larger floor area because of the position of the door to the hallway. With a dining table, sliding door to the living room, AND door to the garden, perhaps only a kitchen unit along the long exterior wall remains??

By the way, if the kitchen moves to the guest room, you can close the current sliding door to the former kitchen and place the TV there – the dining table would always be next to the kitchen and thus also be located somewhere else than in the current plan...

Yes, I fear that too. We can't avoid having an entrance door in the front area of this room. A sliding door could maybe be an option here to save space, because a normal door would need space to open. By now, I could even see the option of not having any direct passage to the living room at all. Then we could place a table all the way to the left against the wall without considering the space we would need for the passage to the living room. But none of this is 100 percent ideal... I fear that if I want to keep my table here, a corresponding enlargement of the house along with the associated price would probably be the most beneficial option. Not that we end up regretting it every day later.
