Here are 2 photos, I hope something is recognizable.

This here is the passage that is to be fitted with a sliding door. The passage is 160cm wide. Between the two wall protrusions, the niche is about 60cm wide (was once intended for the kitchen). So running the door inside is not possible.

This here is the wall that can be seen in the upper photo on the right in the foreground. The door is supposed to slide against this wall and you can see at the top right, diagonally "above" the door, the outlet of the controlled residential ventilation.
The sliding door with a little more than 160cm would now come in front of the outlet in the opened state. The whole wall is 200 long, the outlet is 35cm from the corner.

What exactly do you not understand?
Yes, 160cm is no small matter.

Safe displacement would be the better idea but I don't really see any problems; the air will find its way.

I understand it now (I hadn't really seen the assignment and also thought that the valve would be closer to the "frame") and see no problem. For sliding doors, there are stoppers, then you just have 150 or 140 as a passage - that's no problem.

I hadn't thought of that yet! :D How good that this forum exists! :D

If the ventilation isn’t optimal because of the door, I wouldn’t find that so bad. I just don’t want mold anywhere or to suffocate myself from lack of air. Otherwise, I actually don’t care. Because the door is only closed for working hours, otherwise it is open, and then the whole ground floor (except hallway and WC) is one big room and the air can move well. Only suffocating because of a sliding door would be bad. ;)

But Mycraft excluded that with his explanation. The air apparently finds a way. That’s good.

Thanks to you all! :)
