We also chose circulating air. But almost the most expensive appliance in the kitchen with an activated carbon filter. If the house concept is designed to save energy and use waste heat, then exhaust air would really be counterproductive. Even if you probably hear many arguments against it from the family. However, most of them usually have no experience with airtight houses.

You will especially get problems with a fireplace if it creates negative pressure in the house!

Individualists still insist on an exhaust air system with shutdown of the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung].
I don't think it makes sense.

In controlled residential ventilation, a recirculation hood is generally installed. I can imagine that with Kfw55 even more restrictions are made, so that no exceptions remain.

Gutmann and berbel have always been recommended to us for recirculation hoods. But for what the two cost extra, I can blow warm air out for quite a long time.

Above all, the controlled residential ventilation will also suck the air out!
There are only 1.5m between the recirculation hood and our intake nozzles.

If there is ever a smell in the house, run the controlled residential ventilation on max for 1 hour.
