Lidl just had wallboxes on offer for a little over 200 euros. Just a year ago, all wallboxes cost over 900 euros. Why? Because there was a KfW subsidy of 900 euros for wallboxes. This is all crazy. I didn’t install any because I neither have an electric vehicle nor will I buy one. But I had the subsidy approval for even 2 wallboxes, so 1800 euros. I could have had them installed for free with the subsidy even though I didn’t need them at all. A great gift from taxpayers to e-car drivers and manufacturers of wallboxes.

The same is now happening again with energy consulting. Exorbitant prices. I had an offer from a dubious company. They first wanted to create a renovation plan for me. So not really energy consulting but more of a general consultation. It was supposed to cost 2800 euros for one of my properties, 550 euros of which I would have to pay myself, the rest would be paid by taxpayers in the form of a subsidy.

But we’ve already discussed this. You take a 3-week course and certify yourself as an energy consultant. Then the taxpayer-subsidized rip-off can begin.

An acquaintance works piecework as an energy consultant. He used to be a chimney sweep.
By now he has 2-3 employees who prepare the documents in the office (simple tasks).
The most common measures are always the same, apparently they are easy to repeat.

Oh yes, reportedly earning 100k€+
Thanks to the taxpayer!

Is it possible to have a construction project calculated by the energy consultant for KFW 40 and, once it is known whether KFW300 will be used or not, have the LCA done additionally? Or must this be done all at once from the beginning?

Hello,
I am joining in here with my question in this post.
We are currently planning a new single-family house to be built according to the Energetic New Building Standard (EH55).
My question now is, from when do we need an energy consultant? Already in the planning phase? Or is it actually sufficient only after completion of the construction project (provided we are sure that EH55 is being met).

The energy consultant provides the thermal protection certificate for the building if the general contractor or architect cannot do so. For new buildings, if you want KfW funding, you always need an appropriate consultant before starting construction in order to apply.
