Can a layperson dare to handle the baseboards themselves?

Screwed solid wood is not for us again :) I just managed to persuade my wife to go for parquet... The muted walking feeling is really an argument in favor of floating installation. Of course, also the option of an easy floor change after a few years. However, the advantages of gluing cannot be denied either. I have the least concerns about the efficiency of the underfloor heating. But with continuous large-area installation, I would see advantages in smaller gaps (wall distances, etc.), lower impact sound, higher durability, and so on. Gluing is a bit more elaborate, but at the same time saves the hassle of dealing with foil and impact sound insulation...!? I can already see the coin flipping... ;)

You see, there is no right or wrong, as I said I certainly don't live any worse here on prefinished parquet, and if it were something else, then certainly not either. There are pros and cons for both, and if the different feel underfoot doesn't bother you, then it's fine. But I would want to compare the walking feel once and only then flip the coin......
I am even considering putting a carpet partially upstairs, which is completely frowned upon nowadays. I can also imagine that partially, there are so many beautiful possibilities.
But please don't take this coin here. Although it is the largest gold coin, it could possibly damage your screed.

Is the coin included with the parquet so that one can subsequently make a better decision regarding gluing!? :) I have the comparison of the walking feel or rather know both. In general, I would tend more towards the walking feel with floating installation. At the same time, I think it is simply a matter of habit (20 years of floating installation with various coverings) and you can certainly get used to the other relatively quickly if the advantages of gluing should prevail after all. Thanks to you all for the opinions in any case!

Go ahead. :D

Yes, it’s a shaky thing. Everything works more badly than well. Oh, what to do, what to do. :/

It’s not about the cost of buying a miter saw, you can get one for about 100€ that seems to be somewhat decent. I’m just afraid of the thing.
I’m a computer scientist; if I remove half a hand with the miter saw, I’m unable to work. Or I’d only work at 50% speed, depending on how you look at it. :D
I’m also clumsy when it comes to stuff like that and wouldn’t even know how to set it up. Installing baseboards when you’ve already moved in is pretty annoying, furniture and stuff is everywhere; you first have to get past and around that. o_O

Now I’ve tried to close the wounds with acrylic on my completely botched first attempt and now I need a how-to for acrylic. How do you get acrylic smooth without smearing it all over the wallpaper? O.O
I’m not cut out for this kind of thing and am close to calling my painter after all.

The walking comfort is always better with glued installation than with floating installation.

Hm.... I actually feel the opposite, for me the glued one feels rather hard when walking. That's why I say, you should definitely try it for yourself at least once.
