If it lies crooked in the drawer like in the photo, then the miter angle also becomes really weird.
Now I don’t know, is there a trick to reliably fix it so that it stands straight and the cut is correspondingly straight?
Thanks, that’s a good idea. I took a small leftover piece of molding, but it’s just a bit too thick. I’m looking for something thinner and will put a rag around it.
Geometry was (obviously) never my strength. :P Thanks for the tip about the wedge. I should have thought of that. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees.Thank you very much for sharing. Fix the workpiece and fixture as below.
Saw 2 leftover pieces so that you get blunt wedges. that way it clamps easily and precisely. fix the saw fixture to a heavy object if it wobbles on the surface, then your saw wobbles along with it.
