Maybe I expressed myself incorrectly regarding our expectations. When I say we would like a "(slightly) upscale standard," that doesn't necessarily mean parquet or tiles costing 150 €/sqm. However, if that is part of a (slightly) upscale standard, then perhaps my choice of words was wrong. The amount for the floors of just under 80 €/sqm came from a mixed calculation. Some nicer floors in the living/dining area and bathroom. For children's rooms/bedrooms/hallway rather standard.

You want something nice, but nothing extravagant. But you want it done by a professional?! Is that correct? Then the well-meaning advice from Karsten is off the table...

Electrical work is definitely too little... Bathrooms with plastic skirting boards... Flooring depends on the price per sqm.

But here you only see the material. The same amount comes again for installation and then about half again for baseboards and so on. At 80 euros you therefore have approximately 35 € flooring, 30 euros installation, and 15 euros for other costs. And for 35 € you barely get laminate in the higher standard. Vinyl will be tight and parquet impossible.

You can get parquet from Haro in decent quality for 35 euros per square meter.

I agree[emoji2] For our basement, we negotiated the parquet down from 35 to 25€/m2. We ordered a total of 190m2 of parquet and therefore had a good negotiating position.

Yes, that is certainly not the best thing that will be in a house for 50 years, but quite decent.

We wanted to tile the basement, but the tiler was too expensive for us. When you compare the costs including materials and installation, you can spend more on the material with the parquet.

That is true, tiles are and remain the most expensive flooring when you include the labor costs.
