As with everything today, if you want to save money, you should simply compare prices.

Ok, so you had the floor coverings included in your house construction contract? Then a price comparison was naturally not possible because you had specifications for the supplier. Now I also understand the 60€ for vinyl....

So, since I am currently renovating extensively myself again:
I am at €24k with new pipes, new radiators, and the bathroom equipment (sanitary only, without tiles).
You walk through the showroom and find something pretty here and something great there. And since the craftsmen are charging a lot right now, the simplest washbasin cabinet costs €400 just like that.

The same goes for the electrical work. It is currently being done. Unfortunately, I had no time to chase the cables myself, so the electrician had to do it. We are roughly at €15k there as well.
We have about 85 sockets, LAN everywhere where there is a TV and just TV. That is not much and nothing special. And so far we are talking about standard sockets and switches.
Also, of course, the closing of the chases is NOT included. That is done yourself or you pay extra for it.

But: just take the phone in your hand for every trade and call two craftsmen. Or drive by and ask. Be honest and say that you cannot assess the prices. What do they charge for it?
Then throw €5 into the coffee fund and if everything works out, ask them for an offer. That’s how you make contacts and build trust. And you get realistic prices.

So I find some prices funny. You can get oak parquet from Drüsedau with a fairly thick wear layer (I don’t have the offer at hand right now), medium grading for 80€/sqm.

That is specialist trade goods, produced in Germany from regional wood.

As already mentioned, you can’t compare the BT prices.

Some things are better to search for and calculate on-site yourself.

We were looking at floors yesterday, in a specialty store that had prices "from - to." However, there was plenty of parquet with prices up to about €65 gross and our current visual favorite is a ship deck floor for about €30 gross. There is definitely some room for bargaining there.

When I read your discussions here, I always have to hold myself back from thinking badly of such a floor just because of the (too) low price. But: we like it and according to the carpenter in the family, it offers reasonable quality—so why should I take a more expensive one?

Regarding window sills: we got about 13 linear meters of natural stone with a matte surface for just under €800 (and installed it ourselves). There was simply a massive discount because they were leftovers. They were clearing their inventory, we saved over a third of the normal price and again I was—"thanks" to you—initially unsure whether it could be any good. But it was, just leftovers—and since we wanted a stone with slight patterns anyway, naturally all the sills looked different.

So: inform yourself, compare prices, and also ask about leftovers or similar.
