mh, yes that it will be difficult with the bungalow - was already my suspicion - the kids are 1.5 and 5. Yes, I thought the thing with our bedroom was okay. Then at least the hallway won’t get any longer.…

why do you have to go to the attic so often? I had rather seen suitcases, decorative stuff and other things there that you need once or twice a year…

I have drawn a normal-sized dining table in your dining area. That is very little space and hardly manageable with more than four people. The area is the darkest corner in the house and you are between three doors.

mh, the budget is a tricky thing. We do earn well in the East and have secure jobs, but equity is not that great – mainly due to parental leave and the fact that, because of studying, we naturally didn’t earn money already at 20... Additionally, the plot of land for about 180k is really expensive for local standards but is good for us. Within walking distance to the grandmas / and the nearest shopping options. To our jobs we would drive about 30 minutes by car, although my husband probably won’t commute daily anymore even after Corona. All schools / daycare centers are available.
Self-performance, to be honest, we can’t do. We lack the skills, time, and nerves...
I honestly hope that we can manage with up to about 550k, but by now I have my doubts there too. On the other hand, there is also no apartment (purchase / rent) to be found. I was always open to that – but unfortunately there is nothing.

yes, I would place a bench right against the wall.

You are building a house of about 180 sqm and want a dark, narrow temporary dining area in the traffic area, like in a 60 sqm apartment? With two children? Why does it have to be a bungalow?

yes that was actually already our wish with the bungalow but I also suspect that we just don’t like it that much - I didn’t ask here for no reason. I can also come to terms with a 1.5-story house (2 full stories probably wouldn’t be possible - if I remember correctly the eaves height is 5.20) and we had already mentioned that to our planner but he said it would cost us 50-60k more.

it’s also the situation in front of the house that always makes me think - with 5m to the property boundary no 2 cars fit there (there would also be the outdoor unit of the heat pump) and the other side in front of the house is only 3 m. We currently only have 1 car but who knows if that might change someday and then one would always have to drive out (I find that kind of annoying, that’s how it is at my parents’ place)

I’m going to add the first planner draft here - that was also mh ... well, improvable
