Planning is part of building, unless you leave everything in the hands of a trustworthy SI, although I would probably be too afraid that things wouldn't be done the way I like.

Yes, exactly like that, and then also partially executed myself and expanded during the process as long as the walls were still open in the places where we thought of things that would be useful.

Impressive! I notice how I currently lack a lot of time to spend on electricity besides family, job, tiles, doors, etc.

Hello everyone,

I didn’t find any introduction thread, so I’m just writing here directly.

I am currently in the construction phase and have already given some thought to the smart home.

In our current apartment, I run Home Assistant with a Conbee stick and a few Wi-Fi sockets. Since something like KNX is a bit too expensive for me and I don’t want to spend a fortune on it, I thought about how to do it cheaply but also well. The current idea is to cover blinds with Shellys or Sonoff actuators. For the lighting, something similar, and for the underfloor heating possibly to go with Homematic and also integrate that into Home Assistant.

I have already read a bit in this thread, but couldn’t read everything. Maybe someone has some tips or might say, hey better don’t do that, better do it this or that way, it’s better and cheaper.

It would be really nice if someone could give me a bit of help, because there are so many systems and to keep an overview I feel like you first have to get a degree.

Basically, I like tinkering and am willing to do some things myself, but it should stay within a manageable scope.

Thanks in advance to everyone.

The underfloor heating is smartest when you set it once permanently and don’t keep adjusting it. An underfloor heating system is very slow to respond.
