We have a Samsung with a water connection. We once had one with a water tank and I found that annoying. The water was also not particularly fresh after half a day in the tank.....and then the constant refilling. Since our very good tap water is also our drinking water, a fixed connection had to be installed and I consider it pure luxury.

Also...

If you are getting a new kitchen or even a whole new house anyway, you can also include the fresh water connection for 3.65 euros, and if you only install one or two Y-pieces under the faucet.

However, the connection should be as close to the refrigerator as possible. The manufacturers recommend not exceeding a maximum hose length of 3mtr.

I = have had experience. I wouldn't want to miss our side-by-side anymore. However, if I had to buy it again, I would go for one with a water connection.

The reason why I bought one with a tank was that I hardly drank still water before. My wife prefers juicing and the children would also rather go for the sweet juice if they have the choice. Because of this usage behavior, the tank was the first choice. Today I drink MUCH more water from the fridge – ergo still water. For this reason, I would NOW give priority to a water line.

I also recommend this consideration to you for decision making. Do you drink a lot of still water? Do you use a lot of ice?

Also, take a look at the "French Door" refrigerators. I don’t think they’re bad either. What bothers me about the SbS is that a certain part of the cooling compartment is very low, so you have to bend down. Also, the freezer part is like a cabinet; I find drawers much more practical.

Such a unit is on our wish list. Let’s see what comes of it.

I am quite happy when the SbS is gone. As Alex says, the freezer compartment is not great, you can stack pizzas well in it, but otherwise it’s rather impractical. He can do both quite well, but nothing really outstanding. Although it also depends on what you value here (ICE-Maker, chilled water from the tap). On the other hand, it takes up a lot of space.
