We then decided on one with a tank, because after careful consideration we concluded that the water dispenser probably wouldn’t be used that often. I prefer sparkling water and my wife drinks juice rather than water. But we didn't want to completely do without the dispenser.
little details: There are so many little things that make the side-by-side particularly interesting. The ice dispenser (my wife doesn’t like ice-cold drinks); a beverage compartment in the door; a compartment in the door from which you can take your breakfast ingredients without fully opening the fridge (I would have liked to have that, but it would have completely exceeded the budget).
Now – after about 9 months of use, an interim summary:
We love our side-by-side and don’t want to do without it anymore.
I am also very surprised. Since we have the fridge with the water dispenser, I drink water quite often instead of sparkling water. I wouldn’t have believed it.
In addition, I got the kids to first take some water when they are thirsty before switching to the obligatory juice.
But I am absolutely surprised about my ice consumption in the past (warm) months as well. I used to usually drink my drinks “normal” (because of the lack of ice). Currently, in the heat, I like to drink my cola or sparkling water with ice. (Yes – I know – warm drinks work better.)
Conclusion: If I had to decide again, I would definitely choose a side-by-side with a beverage dispenser again.
