Thanks to you too, Olli, for the criticism. The bathroom on the upper floor is just an idea. As already mentioned, we are open to suggestions for improvement. Or do the experts here think it can't be arranged at all? Then as laypeople, we don't need to try it anymore. The floor plan stands or falls with the stairs. Here too, I ask for advice from the experts: Apart from the fact that the room layout will be completely different. If we turn the stairs and want not a half-landing staircase but a well-walkable quarter-landing staircase, can that work at all with this house size of 9.20 x 10.80?

I have now worked on the floor plan again, straightened the walls, and redesigned the kitchen. The most difficult part for me is the bathroom upstairs because the door cannot be moved due to the stairs, and we don't know where to best place the shower. We are probably a bit blind from working on it, but I don't want to give up so quickly and start all over again. We have already invested so much time. What do you think?

There is a huge hole in the kitchen and the seats are squeezed into the corner.

Table sideways ... I look at that with wide eyes, because a table about 180 cm long then allows passage of 60 cm at the top and bottom .. hmm.

And I still don't understand the bay window at the top of the plan.

Could you not also achieve the single-story building with a ridge height of 9 m by using only part of the attic floor area, but then with a normal room height and a roof with only a slight pitch?

I would remove the bay window upstairs. Make the bay window on the right wider and straighten the wall between the kitchen and the living room, then basically into the bay window. And have the kitchen properly planned!

: Yes, I have also noticed the hole in the kitchen. So it’s definitely not narrow. I just lack the brilliant idea to make good use of the large space. The peninsula could also be pushed a bit to the left. I just want a lot of storage space because that is what I miss in my current kitchen.

I don’t know if keeping it single-story is possible by reducing the upper floor and having a flat roof. But it would definitely cost us important storage space in the attic.

If we move the wall between the kitchen and the living room straight into the bay window, we’ll be missing space for the dining table. And the kitchen would be even bigger.

Oh, and of course we can also turn the dining table. There’s still enough room to walk by then.
