Thank you very much for your feedback and ideas! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to respond the last two days because of a sick child. The first option is indeed also our favorite, if it weren’t for the concerns about the lighting. Definitely, a larger window would have to be placed in the bay window or an additional one, but then we would only have very few upper cabinets left. My husband also has concerns because the neighbors could then look directly into the kitchen. It also takes a while for a hedge to grow that tall. Do you mean a light strip between the countertop and the upper cabinets? Or above the upper cabinets? So then, of course, not such tall upper cabinets. For the stair landing, I also imagined a long narrow window like a light strip. Apparently, we have a similar taste there ????. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to convince my husband of that yet, but maybe our architect can manage it ????. We still need to take a closer look at the windows in general. My husband and I have somewhat contrary views there. He fears that with bigger windows we would allow too much insight from outside. We will take your suggestion about moving the front door on board, thank you and . The one on the upper floor between the bathroom and children’s room is a space for the stairs to the attic. We don’t want a pull-down ladder because they are harder to use and we want to use the attic as additional storage space. We find it more practical as a room with a door that can be closed, especially with small children. Maybe one more thing about the room layout and cardinal directions: it is important to us to be able to look into the garden from the living room and dining area. The access to the property is from the bottom left of the plan, so the utility room has to be located on that side. This gave rise to the arrangement of the other rooms.
