Interesting theory
Both here in the forum and when looking at one's own newly built neighborhood, you see the opposite. Trust in deadlines, apartments terminated 3-6 months in advance or sold older properties with tight handover deadlines. People then experience massive stress.

- House trash bins, although that probably won't happen yet, everything that I like is ridiculously expensive, so it hasn't been worth it for us so far.
- Garden: enlarge a flowerbed, create a dry bed in the hottest spot in the garden, pick out an apple tree,
- if the street is finally done then hopefully, curbstones still need to be placed at the back boundary
- ... no idea, sure there will still be some small stuff to find

I am already being monitored, my husband has already gone wild. Electricity, water, gas meters, he can see when I cook or watch TV by the power consumption, messenger notifications when the washing machine and dryer start and finish, CO2 levels in some rooms... 1984 indeed

We have now been living in the house for 2 years and still have a long list:

[*]Finish the playhouse and "children's corner"
[*]Border the lawn area with granite cubes
[*]Purchase and set up a robotic lawn mower
[*]Build a ramp to the raised level (for wheelbarrow and lawn mower)
[*]Install about 8 meters of chain-link fence
    [*]Create a flower meadow
    [*]Expand the berry fruit bed
[*]Level the green strip to the neighbor and sow grass
    [*]Complete the shed
[*]Set up a workshop corner in the carport
    [*]Install roof shelter lighting
[*]And probably many other things that come to mind in the meantime

Oh yes....meanwhile welcome the second offspring!

We have now been living in the house for 1 year. The man had a lot of time in the summer, unfortunately not for house projects. Retinal detachment - twice in a row. All projects from this summer could therefore not be started, but health comes first. It annoys him that we haven't made progress - not me. There just won't be any boredom in 2020

Planned projects (except for those that will come up spontaneously :rolleyes

- Having more time for sports again
- Breakfast terrace. Fortunately, the main terrace is finished. A little corner in the morning sun is still missing
- Having more time for sports again
- Loggia. Wooden cladding of ceiling and floor
- Having more time for sports again
- Wooden cladding on the house - entrance area and a bit in the garden
- Having more time for sports again
- Garden gate
- Having more time for sports again
- Garden lighting

As overachievers we are, we only have to install 1 light (dressing room), all baseboards are finished, garage expansion is currently underway and will be tackled over the winter. So we don't even have things that you have to do someday but never found the time or the desire to do
The garden is finished (and also not, because of course there is always something to do).

So: Having more time for sports again

Having more time for sports and generally for myself should also be seen as a main project for 2020 - I had burnout in 2017, I don't need that again. But I have noticed that building and planning the house itself doesn't actually stress me out so much that it could lead to burnout. I (mostly) enjoy it and you can see the result. Sure, there are areas where it pinches, but you also know that it will eventually fall into place.

But unfortunately I am a ruthless perfectionist and nitpicker. I can't rest if I still see something that needs to be done (should be done). Mea culpa - my husband is much more laid-back about that. By now he goes to sports or out with colleagues 2-3 times a week again. I haven't gotten that far yet (unfortunately).

What annoys me more is the "stuff around it," dealing with authorities, doing RLV, adjusting the will, triggering the marriage contract... we still have ongoing issues there and THAT MUST be done in the near future. Unfortunately, all of this depends on me - my husband is a master at sitting it out. He knows I'll do it eventually. That's causing a lot of friction between us right now.

But nice projects for 2020:

To beautifully design the little outdoor area we have (most of it will be terrace/driveway/parking space anyway). I want a raised bed and an herb bed. Especially the latter is massively missing for me, I cook a lot with herbs and they just aren't as nice in a pot.

- Depending on how the offers turn out, either a massive shed or otherwise a wooden shed, each with a gable roof and carport
- Pull cables in the upper floor so that drywall can be installed on the slopes
- Pave driveway + terrace
- Step at the main entrance
- Buy a bit of soil and have the property leveled to the correct height
- Sow lawn
- Pest Telekom heavily to make them get moving. All neighbors around us, including those who moved in after us, got internet very quickly. We had X appointment postponements and although the fiber optic cable was installed in the house on 08/29, there are now X disruptions so the technician cannot come yet. We were promised a monetary compensation, but that doesn't help us. My girlfriend is doing a distance degree and I actually wanted to do home office 1 day/week ...
