Got it! Thanks! So far I have 3 PoE access points and maybe one more will be added (outdoor). Do you think it would be more energy-efficient to use a "normal" switch with injectors? Or would that be too chaotic in the server cabinet? Or is there a switch that has both? That is, PoE and non-PoE ports? That would be a good compromise. First World Problems...

How many non-PoE ports do you need?
And are PoE cameras or something like that also planned?

Since we both often work from home, we want to have as many devices as possible on the LAN. I need to mentally count... about 23 non-PoE, with at least 4 intended as options/alternatives in case [Frau] wants to redecorate. We haven't thought about cameras, so they are not planned either.

There are patch panels for that (?)

Exactly, that's why I added "option". Patch panel is planned. That leaves about 20 used non-PoE ports vs. 3-4 PoE ports.

The devices that are "optional" in terms of re-labeling are not connected at both the old and the new location at the same time. Therefore, at one of the two locations their connection socket is unoccupied (and consequently does not occupy a port on the switch, but only on the patch panel). Are you still confused at this point?
