I don't understand the black towels . They draw too much attention to the towels, which look like black holes against the white furniture and white walls. Otherwise, I like the bathroom. What I really don't like at all is the typical German toilet in the main bathroom. Unfortunately, I'll never understand it, but I don't have to.

I once had a friend whose shower and toilet were in separate rooms. I don’t even remember how many times I had to run naked from one room to the other because I needed to go before showering and was already undressed...
No no no. It has to be in one place.

that is pure habit. Normally, you go to the toilet beforehand before undressing in the main bathroom to shower. Even if you do dash naked through the hallway, so what? Who should that bother? I know 1000 arguments against a toilet in the main bathroom, but apart from the (minor) additional costs, not a single one in favor. That's why I've been wondering for years why it is still like that

compliments from me too! If it weren’t for a few personal items being visible, one might think this is from an advertising brochure!

I only wanted tiles where necessary. On one side, the bathtub and toilet are next to each other (separated by a small wall). Since there is a sloping roof here, that set the height dimension. We used the same height on the opposite side at the washbasin. Otherwise, the tiles are only extended around the corner next to the toilet to the same depth as the bathtub specifies. And, of course, in the shower (floor to ceiling).

You just have to consider where it can get wet and up to what height. Then the areas become clear.

Choosing tiles is an event in itself. How it would look in the bathroom... I couldn’t imagine. Fortunately, a real "wow" effect turned out. For those who are really unsure, the only option is to go to a professional who can do a 3D visualization.

Yes, we like it too - but it's funny that it was basically a "by-product" that just turned out quite well in the end. We had the factors
1. Bedroom that also fits a large bed
2. Staircase
3. Utility room on the upper floor
4. Gallery
and the leftover room then became the bathroom. It also developed a bit during the construction, but for the fragmented room it ultimately turned out quite well.

Alessandro: for the somewhat longer sessions in the toilet, we have a toilet on the ground floor. Upstairs only for the small business and at night. Otherwise, we are downstairs anyway. We are very relaxed about it and have no problem if one is peeing and the other is standing at the washbasin brushing their teeth.
And I was just thinking last week when I was standing in the shower and realized I still had the o.b. in... running dripping into another room to achieve the shower-fitted o.b.-free state? No, thank you... No, no, it's just fine the way it is. I wouldn't want it any other way.

I currently like the dark gray (not black!!!!) towels. It could be that I'll have a green or red phase again sometime, then the towels will change. I find white nice but difficult because it’s always a slightly different white than the furniture and after a few washes, most unfortunately also turn slightly gray. I don't find that very exciting.

I am absolutely overwhelmed by all your many responses. Thank you very, very much for that already. Exactly, we have no door in the shower. If we don’t put tiles around the bathtub, will the fittings be embedded in the plaster? Is that possible? The idea with the rod for a towel is a very good one.
