We do not have a laundry chute. However, that would be quite stupid for our house anyway, since we built "inverted" due to the location on a slope. That means the bedrooms + utility room + main bathroom are downstairs and the living rooms + exit to the terrace + shower bathroom are upstairs. Thus, the majority of the dirty laundry moves directly from the main bathroom to the utility room.
What's more annoying is that the path to the garden and to the clothesline runs through the terrace door on the upper floor, so you have to carry the laundry basket up and down. Of course, we could use the dryer extensively (and thus optimize the self-consumption of the photovoltaic system), but why give up additional money (photovoltaic feed-in tariff) when the sun is shining and the wind is blowing? Well - once (eventually) the carport is built, a second clothesline is to be purchased. Then, in case of rain or unsettled weather, the laundry can be hung under the carport. That would also save the trip to the upper floor.
