This may be the case with the standard floor plans of the major providers. But even these can be modified.
With individually designed floor plans, this point can also be set as a condition from the beginning.
In addition, it naturally depends on whether you are building with or without a basement. Without a basement, you usually need alternative storage space = a larger utility room or an additional storage room. This should then also be sufficient for a washing machine space. The dryer stands on top of it in our case.

Any laundry becomes hard when air-dried*. The exception is polyester and sportswear. Therefore, I have given up drying laundry in the fresh air. Although you can iron laundry soft again, I find the time too precious -> if you take the clothes out of the dryer promptly, you save yourself a lot of ironing. *No idea how this works with fabric softener, I don’t use it because it’s not good.

Hm - I have never really noticed that. However, from childhood I hardly know it any other way than that laundry is primarily air-dried. I have never felt a difference with dryer laundry so far. However, I am also a guy - we are said to feel less anyway.
