What do you think about a laundry chute?

Our architect planned a small utility room for a washing machine and dryer on the upper floor. Laundry accumulates for us in the upper floor bathroom and children's room. Most items go into the dryer, probably out of convenience. In the utility room on the ground floor, we still had connections for a washing machine installed.

I would be interested to know from those who have a utility room on the upper floor whether the room itself is not disturbing even with spinning laundry.

What exactly is supposed to disturb when?

No, that does not bother with a modern machine and good doors - I hear & feel nothing with mine. That was clearly different 50 years ago with the old machines.

Laundry room directly on the sleeping floor is by far the most practical setup - the next best solution is a laundry chute.

We immediately placed such a mat under the washing machine when we moved. You can hear it slightly with the door closed, but it’s not disturbing. Our child sleeps next to it despite the washing machine running.

Okay. We also have a mat underneath, but during the spin cycle I can hear the thing even with the door closed. I was just curious - it could be that there are special measures or something like that. We have tubular frame doors. Next would be the full frame door - do you have those in front of your utility room on the upper floor?
