Something I always HAD to have was getting my stuff dry from the car into the house. Since we are now building a semi-detached house with the entrance at the front and the garage on the side, that was not feasible. I was even about to cancel the whole thing. Solution? Patio roof, exit from the storage room connected to the garage to the side, and tada: Woman walks through the rain into the house, dries off, goes over the terrace into the garage, and can bring all the things dry into the house. Sounds complicated, but it was the only option (changing the floor plan with the entrance on the side would have been rubbish) and acceptable for me. What I mean is: if you want something that doesn't seem possible at first, you should think around the corner a little. PS the metal strips are also noted on my list!

Yes, getting the things dry into the house.... we haven’t thought about that at all until now but it certainly makes sense.

We will also have a pantry but the access will be hidden. That is also something I MUST have. Access to the pantry is through a kitchen cabinet. Secret passage - I just like that

Hi,

how about bat boxes, swallow nests, bee stones, owl nesting boxes... e.g. built into the facade?

That is not only "eco-correct," but also offers a lot of very exciting life around the house.

To kaho 674 I made the partition wall 45 cm thick and installed the technology in it with a large inspection opening and recessed the lamps at the top

But it rains 24/7 in beloved Germany [emoji23][emoji23] man...

In four years (daily workhorse in the wet north) I have maybe been in the rain 10 times from the carport to the front door, of which 2 times I got disgustingly wet over 5 meters.
3 times were wonderful summer rain, in which I consciously and joyfully paused.

Who calculates that up?
So: Don't exaggerate [emoji6]
