Of course you may ask.

In our basement, a Tecalor 403 Sol is working.

Tecalor is a subsidiary of Stiebel Eltron.

Is this a combined solution where heating is done simultaneously via the ventilation system (like Bien-Zenker offers in their prefabricated houses)? Or is heating done via underfloor heating?

So, as far as I have seen or found out and what we were told, at the beginning of the circuit there is an air/water heat pump or a geothermal exchanger. Then the air is fed into the ventilation systems and somewhere there is a junction point where a ventilation unit with heat recovery is located. The supply air for the rooms is then heated by an electric supply air reheater. The exhaust air from the rooms is cleaned with a plate heat exchanger—I’ll just call it that—where heat is extracted again and the rest goes outside. That’s how I have understood it so far.

What I wonder is, does this only work in a passive house or also in a KfW55, for example?

We have a water-based underfloor heating.

However, the Tecalor 403 offers everything in one device. So, heating, hot water & ventilation.

Thank you, then it is interesting. I don't like such "air heaters" at all.

As already written above, ventilation systems are nowadays installed everywhere in commercial buildings and are constantly monitored... if they were such dirt machines as they are always described in forums, many shopping centers, office buildings, etc. would have been closed long ago...

Regular maintenance is the secret... those who do not maintain... promote the dirt buildup

I also think that shutting down the systems after so many years, as mentioned at the beginning, is the result of insufficient maintenance...

But much is also simply ignorance and fear of progress
