This system was also explained to us yesterday in a lecture and I also raised the point here regarding cleaning and the contamination mentioned above, etc. Unfortunately, no statements could be made about that yet. Good idea, but if you cannot ensure cleaning and might have to shut down the system after 5-6 years, hmm...

We had the technical briefing on our heating system with controlled residential ventilation last week.

There are filter media on all supply and exhaust air valves. Also on the intake tower outside and again inside the ventilation unit itself for supply and exhaust air.

Therefore, it is not quite clear to me how the ductwork, which is protected by filters on all sides with regular filter changes, could develop into a hygienic problem.

A good friend who maintains such systems in single-family homes and large commercial buildings also just waves off this question. According to him, anyone who changes their filters regularly does not encounter any problems.

Otherwise, all ventilated office buildings from the past 20 years would have to be closed due to acute "epidemic risk"...

that is of course also a statement. Somehow the opinions are still divided there, as they say nicely, or the opinions are quite different.

Why do you have filters in the supply air valves? That is rather unusual...?

Otherwise, one can really only recommend using an inlet filter in addition to the device filters and, of course, the exhaust air filters.

: I do not consider myself qualified as a layperson to judge whether this is common or not. In our system, the filters I described are included as standard.

The filters in the supply air valves are supposed to mainly retain fine dust, according to the technician.

The technician who "gave" us the instructions installed all the filters together with us, so that we also know where to touch in the future when it's time to change the filter media.

Regards,

Dirk

Well, I call that damn good service and I think it also shows the quality of the technician or the company. May I ask which system was installed?
