Well, then clean the pipe after all.

Maybe it runs somewhere else where it more or less simply seeps away. As if it were practically not connected to the drain at all...

Everything should be connected. We connected it ourselves with a friendly civil engineer who does this daily. However, the shaft at the drain really looks very unused. That makes me a bit suspicious. Only a tiny little trickle runs from left to right. Nothing should have been damaged during the construction phase either, as the pipe lies very deep.

Since the water in the second shower hardly drained at all this morning, I have now called someone to take a look at the whole thing. I hope he will come by today.

Currently, we can only shower downstairs because we discovered a leaking joint in the shower upstairs. I removed it on Saturday. Since it was already wet behind it, I am leaving it open for a week now. It was only on Saturday evening that we really noticed the clogged pipe.

New home - new problems!

With my condominium, it was such that the walk-in shower overflowed during the first shower. It turned out that during the final cleaning, not only dust went into the drain but they also removed residues of mortar and whole snakes of silicone afterwards. Maybe some craftsmen also disposed of some things along the way in your case and didn’t flush properly? I hope for you that you can still get to the clog and that no pipe is actually broken...

Hello.
Yesterday a friend was here while I was at work. He drove a camera from the shaft up to the front of the house. He couldn’t get past the edge of the house. However, he couldn’t detect any fault up to that point. Right at the house, he probably couldn’t go further because the pipeline runs under the foundation. In the evening when I was at home, unfortunately, he had no more time.

Anyway, the following happened yesterday:
To determine the fault location more precisely, I turned on water room by room.
The kitchen and utility room are next to each other and water came through there. But besides clean water, it also brought toilet paper etc. It was also gurgling quite a bit.
I then turned off the water in these two rooms again because only clear water was coming. Then I went to the guest bathroom. Turned on the shower and flushed the toilet. After 2 minutes, water was standing again in the shower. Only a trickle came out of the drain. But a gurgling sound was clearly audible. Then I turned on the kitchen and utility room again. It got quite loud and again quite a bit came through that did not belong in the kitchen or utility room. I repeated the process with first the bathroom and then the utility room and kitchen again. It got quite loud again and then a load shot through the drain shaft that was impressive to see. For some reason, this seems to have cleared everything. Apparently, the point was directly at the transition between the line from the ground floor bathroom and the line to the kitchen/utility room.

As a test, I flushed upstairs and downstairs. Both toilets no longer make any noise. The water level in the toilets is now also fine. In addition, I ran the shower downstairs. Water reaches the drain, and clearly so. So everything should be fine.

Do you still recommend a camera inspection from the toilet? Or should I wait first in case something happens again, which I hope it doesn’t?
