I am of the opinion that it hardly matters how big you build. The storage spaces always get clogged up. I grew up in a 75sqm apartment including a complete attic and a basement room of about 20sqm, and we could store everything. (4 people) It was all full, but it worked. Then my parents built a house with over 250sqm living space, a full basement, a finished attic, and a huge garden. We all moved out of the old place and what happened? The house was full to the brim after just a few years. People just buy a new garden set for the 50th time instead of borrowing one from the neighbor. Now it just sits in the basement until the next big party. Same with me. A shared flat room and everything fit in. Then several apartments including basement rooms and also everything full. Now a (small) house and a few months after moving in everything is full of stuff.

There you go already. What does “easily accessible” mean? If I ride my moped once a week and have to get my clothes from the attic, I have no problem with that. Someone else absolutely has to have them in the hallway closet. Same with jackets, shoes, etc. The more space you have, the more junk you buy.

And where are you getting your new topic from now? Or did you just have a jump in your thoughts?

When I consider that every square meter of living space is supposed to cost between 2000 and 3000 EUR, or a basement at least 60000, then "space" is also present in the smallest hut. The fact that new cheese is bought for every cheese nowadays is solely due to the consumption behavior and prosperity of the Germans. Just switch on your brain before the next buying frenzy and don't chase every trend.

Building big helps twice when it comes to sufficient storage space. On the one hand, you have more storage space; on the other hand, you have already spent the money on building the storage space, which can no longer be spent on buying unnecessary frills that overcrowd the storage.
