Hi, good list and really good food for thought for everyone who is currently in the planning phase. As a small addition: If you don’t have children yet, you tend to underestimate how much stuff and junk accumulates for the little ones. And with children, you also take much less time for a cozy sorting weekend... In other words, the pile grows faster and you have much less time to declutter. Best regards, Andreas

Oh yes, the post does list quite a bit of "consumer junk" and collecting But you are entitled to all of it.

During my civilian service, I learned how to do it streak-free without electrical devices. The most space-saving method is actually still with the old newspaper. Then it’s not lying around anywhere.

This list does not claim to apply to everyone, but it aims for everyone who wants to build to think about their household and receive pointers on the kinds of things they should consider.

From that, one can create their own checklist and check off whether and where storage space has been planned, storage space is not needed because one does not have those items, or if one needs to rethink their storage space.

Additionally, like those from Andimann can also be read by builders who are still without children.

Clickbait?

What was the message now? A plea for storage space?

Then please don't forget the storage place for the note with the next appointment at the psychiatrist. People, really.

We have just under 140sqm without a basement and only a tiny attic. That’s a bit tight for 4 people, but definitely possible. If there’s not enough space, I guess I’ll have to sort out my two cable boxes I've painstakingly accumulated over 25 years! But seriously, maybe I could use one someday!

Just don’t throw away the good SCART cables. They will definitely come back. Guaranteed.
