Tall cabinet 240 cm meaningful?

I am currently planning an Ikea kitchen. I have planned a tall cabinet for microwave (but I will use my own microwave) and oven (at 220 cm). Now the question arises for me, why shouldn't I take a tall cabinet at 240 cm? Is a tall cabinet at that height even practical?

240 cm high becomes 248 cm with the base. The ceiling height must therefore be more than 250 cm. It is especially useful for upper cabinets that are 100 cm high. 240 cm is only available assembled from 200 cm + 40 cm. A 40 cm high compartment must then suffice for the intended purpose. Whether 20 cm more storage space is important, only you can answer.

Thank you for the response. Well, I’d rather stick with the 220 cm, which is 228 cm with the plinth.

Then one more question: I have planned the Karlby countertop in walnut.
For the plinth, I was thinking of Edserum wood effect brown. I thought that would be a nice contrast... or does Edserum differ that much from Karlby walnut? Unfortunately, I couldn’t really compare the two at the IKEA store.

PS: Is there anything to improve in my planning?

I want to manage without wall cabinets...

Just as a question: Should a dishwasher that is not from Ikea go into the niche next to the sink? Have you dealt with the problem? There is a long thread about it here in the forum.

PS: I would take the plinth in the same color as the fronts. I didn’t want to at first either, but it really looks best. Your floor is also wood, which otherwise gives many different grains.

Next to the sink cabinet, the dishwasher Välgjord will be installed.
The baseboard is correct, I will take it in the front color.... thanks...

For the sink, I chose the Blanco Elon XL 6 S Anthracite Granite Drop-in Sink Gray...
The range hood should be wall-mounted and black...

It will be my first Ikea kitchen.. (I have already had 4 kitchens from the kitchen studio)

should the Kroktorp fronts be used? Then please note that they are being discontinued.. unlike a few weeks ago when placing the order, I am now having enormous difficulties obtaining everything.

In another Ikea store, I was told that no new kitchens with this front are allowed to be sold, but apparently this has not yet been communicated everywhere.
