Successor of Ikea Pax cabinets in birch

I was in Heerlen today. According to the computer, you still have all the birch Pax available.
On Monday I’m coming to pick up my second Pax. It rained so much today that I didn’t want to load it.

I was there for the first time today. It’s actually only 15 km from me. Great.
So, you have a new regular customer.

Hello Ikea friends,

today I was at IKEA Duisburg and discovered the new PAX birch carcasses on the shelf.
Price has stayed the same.
3 identification features:

A new order number starting with 800 instead of 001
Narrower packages
Made in Lithuania instead of Italy.

The guys at the information desk confirmed to me that these are the new models.
They were not yet set up in the furniture exhibition. Supposed to have rounder shapes and a different base.
They also mentioned a color difference. Now I am looking forward to the first assembled models.

I asked around today with us and no one knows anything about a new Pax series. Are we really that far behind? Did you ask about it in Heerlen? I only found out today that the drawer for cloths and scarves in birch is being discontinued. Mmh..

My friends actually wanted to buy a mega PAX combination over the weekend, and now? Argh.

no, I didn’t ask in Heerlen. The Pax cabinets are also not in your aisle warehouse. You have to order them upstairs in the department and then pick them up at the customer counter. So I couldn’t check anything there either. In Duisburg, they are in the aisle warehouse and I was able to look around at my leisure.

Well, as the guys at the info counter said: if you already have a cabinet as a start, you should continue with old carcasses. The new base and the color difference would be clearly visible. However, if you are just starting a new project...

On the other hand: if your friends are now buying a project completely, it doesn’t matter. It only becomes problematic if you want to add a new part after a year. Then you can see the difference.

I have now decided to get old carcasses from you on Monday. Of the three meters I planned, I have already assembled the first meter. Birch combined with DRAMMEN doors is, in my opinion, awesome. The carcass I need (100x35x201) is however 4 € more expensive than in Germany. Then it will just be a small Köttbullar in the restaurant

hmm.. okay.. so far I've heard that the birch drawer with compartments for scarves/belts will be discontinued from April. I'll make sure to grab one or two before then. Otherwise, from April we'll also get a new wardrobe system with about 5 different doors to choose from. I'm curious to see how they look in person, but nothing beats a PAX for me.

My friends have a 6-meter combo, or as you so nicely put it, a "project". And they wanted to mix white with birch. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Bought a new generation Pax in Duisburg today. Will assemble it Sunday evening and then take some photos. Can you also upload photos here? We'll see, maybe it works. Have a nice weekend Toots
