Architects owe their clients a design that can be approved, nothing more. In theory, it may – although this raises the question of whether it coincidentally fits the outcome of service phases 1 and 2 – also come straight out of the drawer.

Given the classic, usually opposite case, I find it impressive that this design appears as if a design for an angled bungalow with a basement for a sloped plot has been transferred onto a flat plot. The crazy retro Z-wave mix of a 1960s house and a 2010s garage has potential for a fashionable flop ;-)

Yes absolutely, you are right - the forum is great and there is really good input from everyone... The "tragic" thing is that it is necessary to consult the forum... because actually it should be the architect's task to design the facade accordingly for 1 million EUR - and not the task of the client to do this with the help of the forum...

I also find the floor plan successful, BUT as already mentioned, the rooms are not much larger than in a typically compact 160 sqm house. The spaciousness was created with the help of large traffic areas.

My points would be the parents' area and kitchen and generally the windows as well as the roof.
- Parents' area: I would place the entrance door in the wall between the bathroom and bedroom and move the bottom right cabinet to the left to be able to access bedroom and dressing room separately.
- Attach the kitchen island to the south to shorten the walking distance from the entrance, windows either narrow between the rows as a door or removed and instead one above the row to see the postman on his way to the front door.

The combination of roof and segmented "windows" conveys in the views (probably also due to the colors) the feel of a rundown 1980s bungalow. Do you have any restrictions for the roof? Then I would start structuring the windows.

I would also enlarge the kitchen (Speis weg e.g.) and if possible, redesign the peninsula into a full island. I used to have an island, now a peninsula, and every day it annoys me that I can only walk in and out in one direction. To me, a peninsula looks like "there was no other way."

I don't like the balcony upstairs, what's it supposed to be good for? And if it has to be there, I would see if this ugly support can be removed... or if the terrace should be covered, build a modern "Pergola" for shading. It's already a huge house, but a lot of traffic area, with these costs I would have probably wanted it a bit more modern. The floor plan is otherwise coherent and quite nice to look at.
