As long as the neighbors are Germany fans, it’s only two evenings  I do agree with though: as long as the views are generally more relaxed and modern, I don’t see a larger contiguous wall area as that problematic. Asymmetrical, relaxed windows demonstrate that a house is planned from the inside out. The current symmetry and small-scale division rather indicate that something is supposed to have an external effect - which, however, has failed. But I am optimistic that this can be addressed.

What he said. :)

Good inside, from the outside I don't like it as a hip roof house owner. (The next house won't have a hip roof either ...)

That is not unusual for the north side. Of course, you can install more windows, but it doesn't bring as much as windows facing south, which is why people often skip them.

Overall, I find the external effect not congruent with the financial investment.

With the L-shape, an offset gable roof could actually work quite well. In the children's rooms then with more room height and over the bedrooms and bathrooms with storage space. The [Stauraum] could even get natural light...

I find it tragic that you pay an architect (presumably) a lot of money and you have to seek advice and suggestions for the appearance/facade, which is a relevant part of your building, in an amateur forum....

I can only agree with most points here.

Looked at the floor plan, thought of a very modern house - saw the exterior view -> Urrrrgh.

A few minor points mostly already mentioned but many also a matter of taste:

- Furnish as planned and draw it in. Some things might suddenly look different in the floor plan.
- The living room currently seems split into the sofa corner, which seems rather small and dark in relation to the rest of the house, and the "reading chair" which gets a very prominent place, but also in line with the hallway. It could also create the impression that the reading chair is more in the hallway than in the living room.
- In general, one must be aware with this floor plan that the individual rooms are not significantly larger than in a house with a few sqm less. A lot is taken up by hallway space. Roughly around 50 sqm (excluding the area of the reading chair in the living room).
- Kitchen/dining similarly. Is there perhaps supposed to be a stool at the island? It's too tight for that. Is the pantry really necessary? The suggestion has already been made to possibly omit the pantry instead.
- I didn't quite understand the thing about open space and noise, did I overlook a gallery? The fact that the staircase is not separated by doors/walls is rather "normal" today. Sure, noise goes upstairs, regarding doors with higher sound insulation, please note that this must be considered when planning ventilation, because doors with higher sound insulation usually close too tightly so that no air flows through.

Stupid when you do something else in between and then forget to properly finish the sentence.

....instead to then get a more spacious kitchen/dining area.
