I agree with the participant that the strength of the posted draft lies in the "mix of openness and closedness." I would also be interested in the floor plan of the inspected show house (preferably as a private message).

One could rave about any floor plan that includes a kitchen with a door and a gallery :-)

Yes, the original Brad could gladly be named sometime :-)

I primarily meant the double doors on the ground floor :-). For a gallery, I would rather do without it in normally sized houses.

Here is the floor plan we saw and found good.

I want to make it clear once again that we liked this very much, but we are by no means saying "It has to be like this and not otherwise." That impression seems to have arisen here... it only served as a starting point for us. Now, with the apparently found plot of land, one has to go into the planning in more detail anyway, but that is exactly why we are posting here.

Nothing is set in stone (well, except the double doors leading from the hallway, I simply fell in love with them) and I am still happy to receive constructive criticism. Discussions about Brad Pitt and Co. unfortunately do not help me here. If we were not open to changes, we would not have reached out here.

Thanks for the constructive contributions, especially the comments regarding orientation, which I found very helpful. We are already busy drawing...

But a monster comes out of the cosmetic surgeries.

It's quite nice, but you also have to consider the orientation – in that respect, it even fits better. But I only glanced briefly and had the plot with a north orientation in mind?!

Yes, that was a quick shot. You are completely right that it doesn't make sense. In Lower Saxony, however, a knee wall of 1.80 m probably does not yet count as a full storey. Still, it would look stupid. So it's discarded ;)
