How wide does the carport need to be to park the car between the entrance and the garage without it feeling tight?

Infinitely wide. Seriously: I imagine going down the two steps, then turning 90°, with child 2 in the stroller past child 1’s bike. No, in my mind, there’s no car parked there at all.

I will have to move the chimney or even more radically swap the staircase with the bathroom...

Four meters between the walls, I don't see less than that. Sized for a second car, correspondingly wider for a minivan.

Hmm, currently we have 3.75 between the walls. So we are close to the four meters. Since we didn’t have a staircase there before - it also seemed sufficient to me. We were only able to measure the ground the week before last -. with the staircase, it now seems tighter to me... I am even unsure whether 4 meters is enough for the car and movement space (wheels, etc.).....

Whether 4 m is sufficient depends on the car, as there are now vastly different widths. For me, however, that would be too tight. Unfortunately, there is no at least somewhat dimensioned site plan of the property with a north arrow attached in post 1. Whether that is somewhere in this thread ... no idea, which is why something like that should be in post 1, because you can always find it quickly there.

I meant that more as a minimum, with Golf / Astra / Focus, but without bicycles / trash cans.
