Just think about what’s going on in 10 years or with two teenagers. That also applies to laundry, the family computer, wardrobe!!!

Not just those. Take a look here at floor plan discussions. Don’t be scared by block-shaped buildings or the like – inside, the layout of floor plans hardly differs from gable-roof houses. That usually only concerns the attic. You can also imagine the multi-purpose rooms as enclosed spaces.

Hardly anyone builds the staircase position you mentioned anymore, except those tied to a developer or those who do not wish to engage with the subject.

If you want to place a china cabinet or cupboard... or if the table is sometimes supposed to be 1.10 m wide...
Therefore, a completely different design could result from that, since increasing size is not so simple. It has to be paid for as well. And so everything else must be rethought.

Have a browse around here

I find the draft - although I especially like Katja's version better in the kitchen area - sympathetic; for me, it only becomes tacky through the full-surface brick cladding. With a gabled attic, you have to live with the fact that the exit cannot be at the eaves side. I consider - mind you, in a multi-family house with a whole bunch of (well-behaved*) kids - a dirty zone at the front door by no means a given. Who cares these days with WLAN anyway, where the laptop is put down in the evening?

*) in my opinion, that is also the whole trick involved

Sure. Here I removed the stairs from the dirt area (it’s not a landing – program error) and rotated them... and adjusted everything else accordingly.

So, we have taken the advice and suggestions to heart once again and adjusted a few points:
As in Katja's proposal, we now have a half-turned staircase with an adjacent cloakroom / vestibule. The dirt area should therefore be well separated. We have slightly separated the kitchen-dining area + window + sliding door to the living room. Unfortunately, the bathroom had to be redesigned on the upper floor. But the solution should also work. An office is now available.
The hallway in the attic could be a bit dark; here, you have to make sure to at least install a glass door in the office or install daylight spots.
But have a look yourself:

Have you marked the 2 m line on the upper floor? Is the storage space in the bedroom sufficient?

I am surprised how one can fit such an impressive composition of narrow pathways into an actually quite clearly structured floor plan - in many places, there isn’t even a hint of the spaciousness that a sense of room unfortunately also needs.
