Side sectional gate as a courtyard gate? Isn't a swing gate better?

Sure, why not? I have an RFID reader and a fingerprint scanner on the gate. For example: left index finger opens the gate about 1 meter, right index finger opens it fully. I already have that on the garage for a door next to the garage as well as the garage gate. Sure, it’s a bit of a gimmick, but I find it very practical. I don’t see any reason against it somehow? This way I save both the small gate and the post that separates the small gate from the big gate and provides the "end stops." I also find it more visually appealing.

Well, how long does it take until the gate is 1m open for passing through? That would start beeping at me after 2 days.

That doesn't annoy me, I think. I also don't have to fumble for a key and unlock anymore, because of RFID. Function follows form in this case. Actually, I didn't even want a gate, let alone two :) Hörmann also has reasonably fast gates, I have seen...

I don’t want to convince anyone by force :) It’s your goal, for me that would be unthinkable.

After some consultation with the government, the problem arose that we would then neither get in nor out if the power were to fail. Although I have buffered the building technology in terms of bus and essential actuators via a UPS, running the courtyard gate through the APC is a bit oversized. I probably have to think a bit more... If the gate is so low that I can climb over it, our furry friend will also jump over it.

In case of a power outage, a lock is installed on the motor housing that allows the drive to be disengaged and the gate to be pushed open. If you are standing outside, you are unlikely to have the key for it with you – another reason for a separate door ;)
