Do you want to do it yourselves (?) - then please find out how to seal it professionally...

That's right, the niche in the shower wall is exactly the same size as a tile. That creates a quite harmonious look.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the entire niche in one piece, but I can provide you with two pictures, each showing a part of the niche:

Thank you, that already helps me. Is the niche recessed into a 17.5 cm at your place? Planning with the size of the tile is great. Then 60 x 30 would also make more sense for us. Could you, Vorlauf, take another look when you’re home at what height your niche starts? It must then be something like 1.25m, right?!

@Dirk - judging by the tiles, the niche starts at about 1.50 m with you, right?

Hello,

I just took another look at the construction plan.

The wall in which the niche is integrated has a thickness of 23 cm. Electrical and wastewater pipes also run through this wall - furthermore, our house is a timber frame house, so I can’t provide you with the usual masonry wall thicknesses.

I was also mistaken - the niche starts above the 5th tile row, not as I previously wrote above the 4th - according to the plan, the sill height of the niche is 1.38m.

However, our tiles are not, as I previously claimed, 30 x 60, but 25 x 70... - then the sill height including joints and sealing also fits...

Regards,

Dirk

Thank you, ok 1.38 m from the finished floor or from the screed measured. That makes a total of 13 cm for joints.. now to me as a layman that seems a lot, that would be almost 2.1 cm for the joint. 13 cm / 6 = 2.16 cm. Or am I thinking wrong?
