I can calculate the height I need to specify or do you think 1.20m is fine because of 5x 30 x 60 tiles and ignoring the grout lines. The compartment should not start in the middle of a tile.
Are you laying the tiles yourselves? You have to take the grout lines into account. Also consider that you might have a shower tray or a slope in the tiles. You can probably compensate a little with the grout.
Father-in-law will install them. We are getting a walk-in shower. I just don't know what grout width I should calculate, I've read something about 2-5mm. Then I could calculate based on that.
The drywall installer should make the opening slightly larger. The tiler can then adjust it to his measurements (coming from the wall in the tile grid and thinking from the inside about the size of a tile) with simple means. This also works if the drywall installer, tiler, and father-in-law are one and the same person.
Ah ok thanks for the info, so I don’t have to worry so much about the exact height. We would like to have the compartment at 1.20, that would fit well with 30x60 tiles. If we calculate 1.5 cm for all the joints, then I’m at 121.5 cm.
