sorry for the late response - I haven't been able to access the forum since yesterday evening until just now...

Our niche starts at a height of 1,268 - the joints each have a width of about 3 mm.

another recommendation from me:

I would not use the "frame" around the niche, as well as all edges, with the "normal" Schlüter rails in white, but rather have them made with metal rails (stainless steel or chrome).

It doesn't cost the world, but it brings a huge visual gain.

Right, the niche in the shower wall is exactly the same size as a tile. That creates a quite harmonious look.
