Selection of vinyl flooring for new construction

Click vinyl is not waterproof, glued vinyl is. Vinyl is not chosen because of the price, but because of durability and appearance. Ours was significantly more expensive than the 50€ parquet mentioned here, and there was no parquet available in white either. However, 20€ is the lowest price category and there are not many designs and formats to choose from - just as 50 euros seems very low for parquet. Where we sampled, laminate started at 25€, vinyl at 40€, and parquet at 60€.

Click vinyl is advertised as waterproof just like the adhesive kind. And you don’t want to bathe in it anyway ... if something spills, you just wipe it up immediately. Even my cheap laminate, which was also poorly installed, has no problems with it.

I don’t know where you sampled. In the specialty store where we were and where we will buy, the selection of vinyl planks priced between 15 and 30 per sqm was overwhelming. Almost too much. I prefer four pieces; one will do. My wife sees it differently. By the way, today was the plumbing sampling. It was made for me, two standard, three with surcharge. Done. Vinyl with HDF carrier board --> thickness 9.6mm Vinyl solid vinyl --> thickness 5mm

Could anyone notice a difference regarding the offer of the two variants? Is there an equal amount of selection for solid vinyl and vinyl on HDF carrier board?

I am still somewhat reluctant to plan a floor structure of only 5mm. If I take the 10mm into account with the screed, I could one day also lay tiles or laminate instead of vinyl. With 5mm you are so limited.

Click vinyl (HDF) swells when wet just like laminate. Wet mopping is not possible.
