Good evening!

Has anyone had any experience with the products from Wicanders in this context?

Regards,

We were at a flooring specialist store on Monday that has been in business for over 40 years, not a chain, with the owner and manager themselves in the shop. We received extensive advice on floors suitable for underfloor heating and found vinyl planks to be the best compromise of price, performance, appearance, durability, and heating suitability. The manager told us that the manufacturer ultimately doesn’t matter, a 0.3 mm wear layer is more than sufficient in practice for private use in the living room, guest room, etc. She explicitly recommended choosing products for gluing down. Installation costs were 89,- gross per hour, which would amount to around 35 per sqm including preparatory work in new construction. We narrowed it down to three coverings, one from Wineo, one Danish, one no name. Prices between 19.90 and 22.90 per sqm minus 10% discount for over 50 sqm. We felt well advised and will choose not by brand but by appearance and feel. Karsten

Wineo is a good manufacturer. Are you having it installed?

Hi nordlys, thanks for your post.

For what reason did she not recommend click vinyl?

I mean 20€/sqm for the vinyl is good, but if I have to add another 35€, I end up at 55€/sqm. That is anything but good, and for that I can already get parquet.

Plus probably the adhesive extra and I don't know what else.

For clicking, I'm at 20€ plus 5€ for the impact sound insulation.

So please do not compare apples with oranges. The parquet price starts at around 50,- decent quality. With installation, it comes to about 85. The stated price includes adhesive. I can only relay why she didn’t like click vinyl that much. Underfloor heating, she says, is most effective when the floor and covering are connected airtight. Also, she says, replacing damaged planks is very easy with glue-down installation, while with click systems you often have to lift large sections. Often the click groove breaks in the process. The price, when comparing installed costs, is identical, in her words. DIY installers prefer click systems because they are easier. Many shy away from gluing. So that’s how I recall it. Karsten
