Hm, we've already heard from several sources that children can indeed damage such a (sensitive?) parquet. I can insist on no shoes, but how often might the children still walk around with shoes on? I consider my children not particularly rough, but here cars, toy boxes (made of wood among other things), toy cash registers, etc., are sometimes slammed hard onto the floor, and we even have a small dent in our stone tiles, the origin of which no one can really explain.

Thanks, good tip! Bamboo will probably still be warmer than laminate without underfloor heating, right?

Yes, the technology. Learned something new again At first I thought, what's going on now; not that I immediately post under the names Trump or Petry or something, but then I remembered my former passion for the Stoic novels...

Rumor has it that thousands of amateurs lay laminate themselves, but very few sand their floors. Possible reasons: It’s not so easy to sand off a defined layer evenly. If you leave the machine in one spot a bit too long, you'll later have a hole there. Corners and edges are always difficult. I’m also sure that you can’t get the dust out with one vacuuming. Anyway, I wouldn’t get too hung up on sanding.

IMHO, parquet is still a beautiful floor even with small dents. So what’s the big deal?

Can you imagine wall-to-wall carpeting?

Laugh

Normally 3 sanding passes. Between 2-3, holes/joints are repaired with wood filler.

Afterwards, it must be varnished or oiled.

If varnishing;
prime and apply one coat of varnish. Sand again with 120 grit or finer and then varnish once more.

It's not something you can do in 2 hours just like that

We have now scheduled a week for 95 sqm of parquet for ourselves.

As a professional, I would steadfastly refuse to sand unglued parquet.

I would vehemently advise a DIYer against it.

But the machine rental companies and lacquer-oil-or-something-else sellers do not really care, they don't have to be liable...
