: Thank you very much for the additions.
As a layman, I take away the following: base station absolutely necessary, good WLAN prerequisite.
WLAN is not a prerequisite in the sense that the base station is also connected to the network via cable as usual and communicates within the system with the devices without WLAN by using 868 MHz.
The pairing process was clearly visible in some videos. What are your experiences regarding failures, i.e. do some roller shutters sometimes not go down? Do you sometimes have to relearn individual controls?
In fact, it happened to me once within a year that I had to relearn two devices (simultaneously). Whether some update somehow messed something up or what the reason was, I couldn’t figure out. By the way, it only affected HomeKit and continued to work within the Bosch app. In the end, it was done in a few minutes (re-added) and for me not a major cause for concern or dissatisfaction, as otherwise it is actually reliable and trouble-free.
Switches: As far as I can see, for the Bosch flush-mounted control in connection with the S55 system + adapter, a "normal" on/off rocker switch is intended, basically like a light switch with short press → raise; long press → corresponding individual setting? So not these "typical" roller shutter switches like with the S55 (No.: 029403). Is it similar for you and what are your experiences?
I have no direct experience with S55, but the principle is ultimately the same. Yes, switches become rocker switches. Although by now, Bosch also offers integrated flush-mounted actuators similar to Shelly or the ones you mentioned from finesell, so that switches can remain switches…
We are satisfied with the rocker switches and mostly control everything anyway via app or voice… like "roller shutter on the ground floor 20%" or similar.
Originally (1.5 years ago) I actually wanted to rely on the Eltako series 64, which after more than 2 years since the announcement still hasn’t come to market. Therefore, I ultimately switched to Bosch and have not regretted it so far.
