Thank you all for the feedback and information. It will come down to the Bosch system. In due course, I will reactivate this thread for further questions regarding the integration of additional devices.

I am grateful for tips and tricks as well as experiences related to the Bosch system for integrating additional (useful) devices such as smoke detectors, for example.

Best regards!

A question that actually came up this morning during a discussion with the electrician: Our internet connection is expected to start only when we move in. The communication between the Bosch devices takes place with the help of the radio standard Zigbee 3.0. Is an internet connection/WLAN connection at all required for the flawless communication/learning of the individual actuators?

Of course, I can’t control anything outside the house, but within the house set up the learning process as well as the automatic roller shutter control via the app through the Bosch controller?

And at Bosch the actuators are also referred to as light/roller shutter control. Does that also mean lights can be controlled with them? The idea is to have two or three lights smart-controlled to simulate presence. Are these the right light controls or are there also a) cheaper and b) better suited ones in this regard?

Best regards!

Unfortunately, I cannot give you reliable answers to the questions, so it might be worth asking Bosch directly.

You are right that the control unit communicates with the individual authors on a different frequency, but in my opinion, an internet connection is needed for the setup, if only to configure the control unit (account, etc.). So I doubt it will work without it.

There are separate switches for shutters and lights (unless there are new models unknown to me). Although I still have 1-2 switches for lights lying around that I haven’t installed yet :)

Other Bosch users might be able to contribute more.

Thank you for your feedback.

I have probably found the individual light controls. However, the roller shutter control is also referred to as light/roller shutter control II, so I was a bit confused. As far as I can understand, the requirement for the new BoschController is the second generation.

Maybe someone else knows more :)
