Knowingly purchasing an 81.5 cm high dishwasher for METOD could already be considered negligent. Also think about the advantages of an XXL appliance. You can load it much better because larger items than usual also fit in the upper basket. Especially with a cutlery drawer, it quickly becomes too tight in height at the top.

I am new here and have exactly the same problem as the OP. So I want to install exactly the Bosch SMV/SBV68M90EU in an 80cm METOD_kitchen and am quite confused about how to do it safely and most elegantly.

What has become clear to me so far is only that with an 80cm carcass the larger machine fits better. Fine. But what do I do now with the front so that the door opens properly?
@woodguy: You write that the OP should buy a Bosch with "the" hinges - yes, which ones? The Vario hinges? That is also what the IKEA expert writes. But if I see it correctly, these do not even exist for this dishwasher, right?
