Unfortunately, older people usually set completely exaggerated prices right from the start because they factor in all their beautiful memories and the many hours of hard work from long ago. And besides, every week the newspaper says that "real estate values are rising"...
The greatest chance to get the best possible price is right at the beginning when the property is freshly on the market and curiosity is still high. Once it's been listed for a few weeks and no one buys, then the price pushers and bargain hunters come to view it, disparage the house, and then it really starts. They wanted 150,000 at first, realistically it would have been 100,000, and in the end, it will only be 60,000 – that often happens.
Now, apart from the dilapidated shack presented on the main street, a nice property with a conservatory, a large plot, and well maintained was also presented, where the older people already know they might only get 80k€ for it. Where is that please exaggerated?
I would like to see you in 40 years, how your jaw drops when someone is only willing to pay 80k€ for your property.
The path is basically dedicated to those who have fallen for the romantic notion of "wealth building and real estate as retirement provision."
Almost every new path to building a house always starts more or less the same way....
- We want to fulfill our dream of owning a house => I can still accept that
- We don’t want to pay rent to strangers => Interesting, but we all know that this is short-sighted
- Preparing for retirement => This is addressed in the documentary. The result as well
- Eventually passing it on to the children => This is addressed in the documentary. The result as well
- blah blah
Many are so blinded by this that the reality is truly misunderstood! The more rural, the less of a retirement provision it actually is in the end.
