Müllerin, there is the house. My brother made it available to the city for refugees or Hartz IV rentals. That means, out of the 1000, we had nothing left. Zero nada. Karsten

I also come from Hesse and honestly, the Vogelsberg (or actually all of East Hesse) is really terrible in terms of infrastructure, etc... I wouldn’t actually want to go there either. But for example, we are building in a small village with not even 600 inhabitants (Western Central Hesse) where all daily shopping options and doctors are reachable within 5 minutes, sometimes even in "our" village. There are also 2 internationally operating companies, a large car dealership, and a driving school. Kindergarten and schools, swimming pool, etc. are in the neighboring villages. So here it looks completely different from Vogelsberg. And the newly built house next to our property (the builders unfortunately separated during construction and then had it finished but then sold it) was just sold for supposedly about 400,000 €, so from the looks of it probably with little or no loss. Older houses also sell quite well here, provided they have been properly maintained. But some people really have completely exaggerated expectations.

So the new development area in Bad Laasphe shown in the post is definitely a failure in planning! It is located directly above the main access road in the direction that is always heavily trafficked and is at the same time quite far from the town center, so that the actual advantage of a small town, having everything within walking distance in an emergency, is lost and, of course, there is no urban public transportation at that size. So a car is necessary for almost everything...

You just don't know.. that's why I personally also find it totally strange to build your house already with a view to selling it. I build my house for myself and where I want to spend the next years/decades. Of course, that can only be seen from today's perspective but that's not bad... I'm not someone who has to do business with real estate

Do you also believe in Santa Claus? Oh, he doesn't even exist, that was the one from the Coca Cola commercial.

Sorry, but the fact that you list North Korea as a success is ridiculous. Kim Jong Un only wanted a photo with Trump, just like with Dennis Rodman. Nothing significant de-escalatory has happened over there so far.

Old people probably said the same thing 30-40 years ago. Of course you can't plan something like that, but you don't have to shoot yourself in the foot and build 50 km away from a highway on all sides *meant as an exaggerated example*
