What exactly is wrong with this statement? There have been presidents with more cultivated demeanor, sure, but the man is basically only doing what he said before his election. There was no war declaration, I believe. Only an "economic war," and all other heads of state do that within their means as well. They just usually phrase it more euphemistically.

Why shouldn't you build 50km away from the nearest highways if you want to live there?

Exactly! Sometimes city dwellers are really from a completely different world, but they always think they are right.

Sorry, I originally come from the deepest Ruhr area. Therefore, I actually don't understand your question.

ok. Well, my hometown is about 20km away from the nearest highway in one direction... in all other directions it is much further.

However, it is wrong that the money from the spouse is excluded. It is taken into account precisely.
I also consider the doctors nearby negligible. I travel 800 km to the dentist because there is only one I let work on my teeth; all the others are rubbish, and I have tried about 15. My mother travels 1000 km one way to the hospital for cancer therapy because only this one hospital can do it (this therapy); elsewhere she would have died. She goes there every 3 months, paying out of her basic social security. There are many doctors, but only very few good ones. I would never go to the village doctor just because he is nearby, unless he is by chance the one in a thousand who can do it.
