I think you can see very clearly what happens when you build in a rural area without a metropolis nearby. It’s pretty harsh when the house can only be sold for 25k€ in 30-40 years. That’s why you see again what location, location, location means.
Those who focus only on the land and building value forget that they don’t have to pay rent and don’t have to deal with landlords.
My (great) grandparents managed on their own in the sticks until the very end and never complained, a former neighbor, despite lung cancer, wheezed up to the fourth floor of an apartment building like Darth Vader until the very end but never moaned about how hard it was.
And since it’s now fashionable to quickly send old people to the "quarry" for pensioners and then complain about the horrendous additional fees for their care, people ruin the time until possible harder living conditions arrive, even though they don’t even know if they will reach those conditions at all?!?
No thanks!
Better to have the house where you like it now and just grit your teeth later if things get tough!
I’ve seen too many people carried feet first through the door to God's acre well before reaching retirement age. That’s why I consider it pointless to worry about what might possibly happen in 30 or 40 years with the slightest possibility within the realm of probability.
