But I can definitely recommend someone very local, we really appreciate the presence on the construction site, which is not always given with longer travel distances (we see this with friends). I wouldn’t look further than 30 minutes away, but it may be that others have had different experiences. Is your South Lower Saxony consistent with the definition on Wikipedia? :)

I appreciate that. However, since we are already searching intensively, it would also be okay for me if you give your recommendation with reservations. Also gladly via private message. We are looking in the Braunschweig area ±25km, so not quite south, but probably reachable within 30-60 minutes? We ourselves live in Frankfurt and yes, from my point of view it is super important to have someone on site. Unfortunately, we cannot represent that ourselves…

We are currently coordinating with the bank, as I want to buy for about 250k and energetically renovate for the same amount. I am curious whether our idea will work out .. since we ourselves live in Frankfurt am Main, we are not on site and also have no network.

Sorry that I haven't responded here anymore, it just slipped my mind. Braunschweig is unfortunately 1.5 hours from here and would therefore probably not be suitable? But it's probably no longer relevant anyway?

We have moved in by now! Not everything is finished yet (for example, we are still living out of suitcases because we don’t have a closet/dressing room yet and all the shower enclosures/glass panels are still missing), but that’s probably normal :) Here are a few impressions:







The kitchen is amazing – really cool! We are still getting backsplashes and a few wooden boards for the island. The storage space is much bigger than in the old apartment, for example, the entire cupboard on the seating side of the counter is completely empty, and the mini pantry in the back left corner is top! :)





The last few weeks have been quite exhausting with the move, illness, and reduced daycare hours. We moved with a company for the first time instead of friends and it was really good – completely without damage, as far as we can tell. Right now, because of the remaining work and outstanding appointments with craftsmen, it still feels a bit strange and “unfinished,” but that should settle in the next few weeks!
