Thursday and Friday quite a lot happened again:

The shell builder is finished and has now also prepared the exterior wall for the patio door! In addition, the first windows are installed, we are very impressed with the look & feel :)

Here is the 1.8x1.8m window in one of the children's rooms:

And downstairs on the ground floor the kitchen door and the barricaded hole for the lift-and-slide door:

Except for the front door and said patio door, I think all windows will be installed tomorrow - so we have probably and hopefully passed the low point of the construction site’s appearance! :)

I would also say from the inside. :) Of course, there are still many construction sites, but at least there is no more construction debris lying around, all steel beams are in place, etc!

Then just wait and see how the electricians or plumbers work. If they want to, they can cause a lot of mess.

What happens with all the interior plaster? Does it still need to be removed, or will they just work over it? Does the old plaster even hold up anymore if so much has already chipped off?

At least the electrician has been quite tidy so far :P

We are not quite sure yet about the plaster. On the ground floor, there is not much old plaster left anyway; definitely a completely new one will be applied. I'm not really sad about that, since a lot of smoking was done down there by the tenant, and the smell definitely needs to be removed.

In the attic and upper floor, the old plaster is mostly actually okay and remained intact when removing the wallpaper. My hope is that we only have to repair around the windows / installation slots and then skim coat over it. No smoking occurred here. But let's see how it looks in the end.

The heating engineer finally ordered a heat pump today. The architect worked on him a bit and he switched from Nibe (12+ months delivery time) to Wolf – delivery September/October. Very good news if it comes to that. And additionally, the heat pump is also 3K€ cheaper (according to the heating load calculation, we only need 9kw instead of the planned 12) and, unlike the NIBE, it uses R290 as a refrigerant, which adds another 5% savings on the entire installation (so also several thousand euros more). Good day :)

The drywall builder is coming tomorrow and will start next week. The electrician will also come again (there were apparently a few absences due to illness in recent weeks).

All windows are installed and there was only one mistake (the window builder mismeasured one window by 2cm – now we have 2cm more window and 2cm less sill height in the living room, the prefabricated concrete had to be broken out again). Also, they installed two non-symmetrical windows in the attic mirrored by mistake – but that was quickly corrected. The lift-and-slide door is also coming in 2 weeks.
