I am bringing this topic up again because we are facing a similar problem:
In our vestibule / hallway, tiles are to be laid and parquet in the living room-dining room-kitchen area. Currently, there are "stylish" brown tiles everywhere (condition very good but ugly) - there is underfloor heating everywhere.
The tiler (who will also fully glue the parquet) said he would leave the tiles in place and level with tile adhesive and parquet adhesive. The current tiles are about 25x25 cm. Above them will be 60x60 cm tiles and parquet planks about 200 cm long.
Can this work? He was sure, I am skeptical.
